From Habele Institute

The Outer Islands of Yap, sometimes called the Neighboring Islands, or Lesser Islands of Yap, are those outside of Yap Proper which have a historical social or political affiliation with Yap.

Populated atolls and islands within the group include: Eauripik, Elato, Fais, Faraulep, Ifalik, Lamotrek, Ngulu, Satawal, Ulithi, and Woleai.

Uninhabited outer islands include: Gaferut, Olimarao, Piagailoe, Pikelot, and Sorol.

Historically, the Southwest Islands of Palau were also linguistically and culturally proximate; as are some islands in the far western portions of Chuuk State.
