Abstract: Joanna Lawolthau of Asor Island in the Ulithi Atoll, an Outer Island of Yap, interviewed on Asor by Modesta Tauwl about backstrap weaving in the Outer Islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in June of 2022. The interviewee discussed differences in weaving in the past vs. today, local fibers, and the culture of weaving. The interview is conducted in the Ulithian language.
