Abstract: Ygnasia Lahasudep of Mogmog Island interviewed on Yap by Modesta Tauwl about backstrap weaving in the Outer Islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in May of 2022. The interviewee discussed differences in weaving in the past vs. today, the backstrap loom, the women's house, local fibers, and the role of mentorship and culture in the transmission of weaving skills. The interview is conducted in the Ulithian language.
