Abstract: Lorita Leframor of Asor Island in the Ulithi Atoll, an Outer Island of Yap, interviewed on Yap by Modesta Tauwl about backstrap weaving in the Outer Islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in August of 2022. The interviewee discussed differences in weaving in the past vs. today, local fibers, differences in weaving patterns, the culture of weaving, and the significance of weaving in Outer Island communities. The interview is conducted in the Ulithian language.
