Abstract: Conchita Fichilmar of Asor Island interviewed on Guam by Modesta Tauwl about backstrap weaving in the Outer Islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in January of 2023. The interviewee discussed differences in weaving in the past vs. today, the backstrap loom, local fibers, and the culture of weaving.
