Abstract: Doloris Ilmar of Asor Island in the Ulithi Atoll, an Outer Island of Yap, interviewed on Asor by Modesta Tauwl about backstrap weaving in the Outer Islands of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) in June of 2022. The interviewee discussed differences in weaving in the past vs. today, local fibers, differences in weaving patterns, and the culture of weaving, and other aspects of the past in the Outer Islands.
