Abstract: Since there are few bibliographies of Japanese publications on this geographical region and because of the increased interest in the area for multiple reasons, i.e., cultural, economic, political, etc., it is hoped that this work will be of use and value to researchers and scholars in the United States, Japan and elsewhere. Bibliographical entries are grouped by Southeast Asian countries, as they were called before the post-World War II period, and by the Mandated Islands, and listed in an alphabetical order. Annotations are descriptive rather than evaluative.
