Mereniw (also spelled Me’reniw) is a village in Fanif municipality on Yap (Marbaa’) in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Classification

Mereniw is also listed among villages unoccupied in both 1948 and 1966, indicating a continued absence of resident population across at least two survey periods .

Despite the absence of a resident population, Mereniw continues to exist as a named land and social unit within the Yapese system of ranked villages, where village identity, land, and position in the hierarchy persist independently of continuous habitation.
