Abstract: Beginning in 1951, the Headquarters for the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI) regularly published a magazine that detailed its work in the region. From 1951 through the first issue of 1956, the magazine was known as the Micronesian Monthly; from the second issue of 1956 through the end of the run in 1980, it was known as the Micronesian Reporter. From 1951 through December 1967, publication cycles varied: For the most part, the magazine was produced monthly, though certain issues cover two or more months. Starting in 1968, the magazine was formally shifted to a quarterly publication cycle, which continued through the first quarter of 1980, when publication ceased.
The January–February 1964 issue opens with new editorial staff listings and district correspondents, while covering governance, education, and health activities across the Trust Territory.
Reports include the work of the Pohnpei Administration and Chuuk Administration offices, education initiatives in Palau and the Marshalls, and health services expansion in Yap. Features note student achievements, agricultural projects, and local women’s associations. Regular updates present contributions from district correspondents such as Lazarus Salii (Palau) and Tribrikrik Samuel (Marshalls).
Individuals highlighted include High Commissioner M. W. Goding, editor Luke M. Tman, managing editor John D. Livsey Jr., and contributors from across the districts. Institutions cited are the Trust Territory administration, district offices, and mission schools supporting education. Volume Twelve, Number One (1964) Index:
