Micronesian Reporter 1962 V10 04. Micronesian Reporter (Report). Saipan, Mariana Islands: Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands. July 1962. p. 32.

Abstract: Beginning in 1951, the Headquarters for the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI) regularly published a magazine that detailed its work in the region. From 1951 through the first issue of 1956, the magazine was known as the Micronesian Monthly; from the second issue of 1956 through the end of the run in 1980, it was known as the Micronesian Reporter. From 1951 through December 1967, publication cycles varied: For the most part, the magazine was produced monthly, though certain issues cover two or more months. Starting in 1968, the magazine was formally shifted to a quarterly publication cycle, which continued through the first quarter of 1980, when publication ceased.

The July–August 1962 issue covers official visits, infrastructure projects, and international recognition of the Trust Territory.

A central feature describes U.S. Interior Secretary Stewart Udall keeping a heavy schedule of meetings and visits during his tour. Reports include the inauguration of new district officers, the dedication of the Truk Dock in Chuuk District, and road construction projects on Majuro and Arno. Coverage also notes the opening of Torres Hospital, the Micronesian Products Center, and scholarship announcements. The Trusteeship Council commended the administering authority, while student achievements are highlighted through honor rolls and an essay contest.

Individuals mentioned include Stewart Udall, High Commissioner Delmas H. Nucker, and district administrators such as Godinez, newly assigned to his post. Institutions cited are the Trusteeship Council, the Trust Territory administration, and the South Pacific Conference.
