Yin (also spelled as Yiin or Yyin) is a village in Fanif municipality on Yap (Marbaa’) in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Yin is located within inland Fanif at approximately 9.582043466 latitude and 138.116698 longitude and is associated with the polling area of Gilfiz. It appears in administrative records and ethnographic surveys as a distinct village unit within the Fanif district grouping.

A cultural site, Thunbiliy, lies approximately 0.03 km from the village, and a burial ground is located about 0.25 km away. Several fish weirs are associated with Yin, including Dooruch, Fann Fithngan, Fann Yatman, and an additional unnamed weir located approximately 0.56 km from the village.

North Fanif Elementary School is situated approximately 0.47–0.53 km from Yin, with a bridge located approximately 0.12 km from the village. In 1966, Yin was recorded with a population of 31 individuals occupying approximately 174.59 acres of land, corresponding to about 5.63 acres per person.

Yin is classified within the Yapese system of ranked villages associated with Tabinaw as Caste I, Class 3 (I–3–C). This places it among the higher-ranking villages within Fanif. Rank at this level reflects the relative standing of the landholding estates associated with the village, with authority exercised through control of land and participation in inter-village coordination and resource management.

The village lies within an inland zone where settlement remains tied to established landholdings and local resource features. Nearby infrastructure is organized through localized nodes, including North Fanif Elementary School and associated communal facilities. In this area, water supply and related systems are typically developed at small scale, including spring-fed and rain catchment systems dependent on local storage and distribution.
