Ru

Ru (also recorded as Ruu, Ruu', Ruuq, or Ruw; also documented as Ru') is a village in Gagil municipality on Gagil-Tamil in Yap State of the Federated States of Micronesia.

Ru is located at approximately 9.544266872 latitude and 138.1703111 longitude.

Mid-twentieth century demographic surveys recorded Ru as occupying approximately 202.52 acres of land. Population fields associated with the village were left blank in the 1966 survey tables, and the village was separately identified in the same study as unoccupied in 1966.

Ru was one of several substantial villages in the Gagil area documented as unoccupied during this period, alongside Ley and Ul, reflecting broader mid-twentieth century patterns of village depopulation recorded in ethnographic and demographic surveys.

The spelling Ru' appears in demographic documentation from the period, while forms including Ruu, Ruuq, and Ruw appear in other records and orthographic variants.
