Office of Insular Affairs (OIA), part of the US Department of the Interior, helps coordinate federal policy for American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. OIA also manages several federal funding programs for the Insular areas that include discretionary technical assistance and Compact of Free Association funding to the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.
