Abstract: The two seperate documents, "Land Claims and Disputes Related to Yap and Woleai Airports" and "Land Claims and Disputes Related Airports in Yap District" are both collections of files, reports, memos, briefs and interviews dealing with the legal and practical status of land that had been claimed or utilized by the Japanese during the Japanese Period (1914-1941) and which subsequently were used, or were consider for use, by the government of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (TTPI).

Locations include the Islands of Yap and Fais, as well as the Atolls of Ulithi and Woleai. Related issues of war claims and compensation are also addressed, with an emphasis on land use, ownership and rights related to airports, airstrips and runways.
