Abstract: Akillino Harris Susaia serves as the Federated States of Micronesia’s Ambassador to the United States of America. His prior government service includes Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2010 to 2015, Consul General at the FSM Consulate in the State of Hawaii from 2008 to 2010, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs from 2005 to 2008, and Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure from 2002 to 2005. His education includes study at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1989 to 1990, the University of the South Pacific in Fiji studying economics from 1982 to 1984, the Kapiolani Community College Paralegal Program from 1980 to 1982, and graduation from Xavier High School in the Class of 1976. His civic and board service includes Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Pohnpei Visitors Bureau, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for NORMA, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Fisheries Corporation, and Delegate to the Kolonia Town Constitutional Convention.
