Abstract: Official report prepared under Miguel López de Legazpi covering events from June 1565 to July 1567. It recounts the establishment of a fort and town at Cebu with the consent of local leaders, the division of land between Spaniards and natives, and the hardships endured during construction due to poor food, tropical conditions, and sickness. The report details a failed mutiny led by foreigners including Pablo Hernández and Juan María, who plotted to seize ships and escape; executions were carried out, followed by a general pardon to calm unrest. It also notes encounters with Portuguese vessels, reconnaissance missions in nearby straits, and the discovery of a Spaniard from the Villalobos expedition living among the natives for over twenty years.
