Abstract: Official government news release documenting the formal handover of the newly renovated Kosrae State Biosecurity Facility on 16 February 2026 in Okat, Kosrae. The ceremony was officiated by Vice President Aren B. Palik in coordination with Governor Tulensa W. Palik and national and state leaders. The upgraded facility strengthens inspection, monitoring, and early response capabilities within the national biosecurity system. Renovations were funded through the GEF-6 FSM Invasive Alien Species Project, implemented by the Agriculture Division of the FSM Department of Resources and Development in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The release frames the project as part of broader national efforts to protect borders, safeguard environmental resources, strengthen food security, and enhance intergovernmental cooperation.
