Abstract: his TTPI Headquarters News bulletin reports that High Commissioner M. W. Goding returned from Washington, D.C., briefly conferred in Saipan, and proceeded to Guam, while Budget Officer Dan Akimoto remained in Washington to work on the 1964 budget. An SA-16 aircraft undertook a special mission from Guam to Truk and Ponape with medical supplies to combat a flu epidemic. Personnel notes include Miss Mary Reddin’s travel to Ponape and various staff assignments, alongside a community notice that the store will be closed on Monday, November 12, for Veterans Day.
The issue also warns that Typhoon “Miss Karen” may strike Saipan over the weekend with very strong winds, placing the Marianas in Condition III and prompting offices to be secured. Community items include a planned gem and jewelry talk by Guam merchant Gordon Mailloux and a Yap model house project in Colonia funded jointly by a High Commissioner grant and the Yap Islands Council, designed to blend traditional Yapese housing with modern, termite-resistant construction and to serve the Yap Women’s Club.
