Abstract: Royal consultation on the request by four French Jesuits—Joseph Lequesme, Philippe Cazier, Charles Braguier, and Gilbert Borde—to travel to the China missions by way of Mexico and the Philippines because other routes were blocked by enemy fleets. The Council discusses permissions, superiors, vicariates, and assistance by the Viceroy of New Spain and Governor of the Philippines.
