Abstract: Rapid alteration of the cultural features one of the results of the ongoing forced economic and social development policy of the present Trust Territory administration. This study attempts to salvage some information about one of the features of these islands most significant in the cultural landscapetraditional houses. The specific purpose is to provide information on the characteristics and distribution of the remaining traditional houses before they are completely eliminated from the cultural landscape of the Caroline Islands.
