Abstract: KPress Vol. 16 Iss. 05: NEWS: Nineteenth FSM Congress opens its Third Regular Session, marking the resumption of national legislative business; newly arrived Australian Ambassador hosts an official celebratory event following presentation of credentials, reinforcing diplomatic engagement between Australia and the FSM; President Peter Christian conducts official visits to the outer islands of Mwoakilloa and Pingelap Atolls, meeting with local leaders and communities; Pohnpei State Governor Marcelo Peterson issues an executive order declaring January 22 as Anti-Human Trafficking Day in Pohnpei State, followed by a public awareness program at the Pohnpei State Government Complex addressing the nature of human trafficking, victim trauma, and misconceptions surrounding the crime; International Organization for Migration (IOM) Chief of Mission Stuart Simpson delivers a keynote address outlining global and domestic dimensions of trafficking in persons, identifying foreign migrant workers and Micronesian women and girls as vulnerable populations within the FSM, and noting existing national and state anti-trafficking legislation; Chuuk Conservation Society announces the relocation of its offices to the LMB Apartment Building in Nepukos, reaffirming its role since 2005 as a leading environmental NGO in Chuuk and as the focal organization for the GEF Small Grants Programme in the FSM; regional notices include organizational updates, employment opportunities, and community information items, alongside regular puzzle features.
