Abstract: KPress Vol. 09 Iss. 09: NEWS: Redley Killion and Jonathan Salle formally challenge the certified results of the March 3 Chuuk State gubernatorial election after alleged improprieties at the Hawaii (Northern Namoneas) polling place, prompting cancellation of the scheduled runoff between Wesley Simina–Johnson Elimo and rival candidate teams; following hearings before the Chuuk State Supreme Court Appellate Division, the Chuuk Attorney General offers and enters into a stipulated judgment conceding the challenge, resulting in an ordered revote in Honolulu limited to previously registered Northern Namoneas voters and confined to the gubernatorial race; the Election Commission’s earlier denial of a revote request is effectively overturned, with the Hawaii ballots to be retallied alongside the Macheweichun ballot box and combined totals used to determine which two teams advance to a rescheduled runoff election; the issue outlines the legal basis of the appeal, the scope of the revote, and the implications for election administration and judicial oversight in Chuuk State.
