Abstract: A Compilation of Subsea Energy and Mineral Resources of the United States Including Its Possessions and Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands by A. F. Holser, R. W. Rowland, and M. R. Goud, 1981, was issued by the U.S. Geological Survey, Interior—Geological Survey, Reston, Virginia, 1982, and reprinted in 1983, with distribution available from the Branch of Distribution, U.S. Geological Survey. The work includes mapped materials with a nautical-mile scale. The discussion section addresses an indication of the possible extent of the U.S. exclusive economic zone under the Draft; a hypothetical limit of the continental margin north of Alaska determined by applying Article 76 of the Draft Convention on the Law of the Sea (Informal Text), Geneva, 1980; the study areas constituting the Maritime Boundary Regions in the Gulf of Mexico and the Southern California Borderland; the replotting of locations of natural-gas hydrates primarily from Kvenvolden and collaborators; the replotting of locations of hard-mineral occurrences on the U.S. continental margin; discussion of manganese-nodule occurrences in the central Pacific region as treated by McKelvey and collaborators; and the mineral resources of U.S. possessions in the Pacific and the U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
