Abstract: This article examines the formation and transformation of Kapingamarangi diasporic communities in the United States, focusing on migration patterns, social networks, and cultural continuity. It traces the development of dispersed enclaves connected through kinship, mobility, and digital communication, highlighting how practices such as genealogy sharing and online discussion reshape traditional concepts of knowledge, authority, and identity. The study argues that diaspora conditions enable the recombination of cultural forms, allowing community to persist as a network rather than a place-based entity. It concludes by redefining community as interconnected social networks that shape life trajectories across geographic space.
