Abstract: This article presents and analyzes a traditional Nukuoro creation narrative within the broader context of Polynesian outlier cultures in Micronesia. The text documents an origin story involving the formation of the coral reef, islets, and human settlement, based on oral narration recorded in 2015 and translated with community collaboration. It situates the narrative within Pacific mythological traditions, highlighting shared motifs such as island creation, migration, and supernatural intervention. The study also examines linguistic structure, narrative form, and ethnopoetic features, emphasizing the importance of oral tradition in preserving cultural knowledge. The article contributes to language documentation, cultural preservation, and the study of Pacific migration and cosmology.
