Abstract: In this reply, Fr. Manuel de Villabona acknowledges receipt of the Council’s letters to the various Jesuit provincials and promises to press for their execution so that more religious may be sent to assist Fr. Diego Luis de Sanvitores in the Marianas. The note is chiefly important as documentary confirmation that the recruitment campaign was being pursued through Jesuit channels.
