Abstract: Lorenzo Bustillo's 1691 retrospective letter credits Antonio Nieto and Quipuha in making the 1668 landing possible, recounts the litany episode aboard ship, the anchorage at Agadña, gift exchange and compadrazgo, and the early protection given to the missionaries. It is a key retrospective narrative on first contact, mission logistics, and indigenous alliance in Guam.
