Abstract: This study focuses on the marine amphipod fauna of atolls in Micronesia, providing a comprehensive overview of species diversity and ecological significance. The research primarily examines the atolls of the Federated States of Micronesia, including Pohnpei, Chuuk, and Yap, where unique marine ecosystems are present. The investigation employs a combination of field sampling and laboratory analysis to identify and classify amphipod species, contributing to the understanding of their distribution and habitat preferences. The findings reveal a rich diversity of amphipod species, some of which are endemic to the region, highlighting the ecological importance of these atolls. Additionally, the study discusses the implications of environmental changes and anthropogenic impacts on amphipod populations, emphasizing the need for conservation efforts.
