Abstract: Fr. Lorenzo Bustillo writes to Fr. Antonio Xaramillo about Governor Jose de Quiroga’s treatment of Captain Nicolas Rodriguez after the 1688 mutiny settlement. The letter recounts Rodriguez’s promotion, reassignment to Tumon, attempted dispatch to Manila, refuge at Umatac, and unsuccessful canoe expeditions to locate the island seen by Lazcano, identified in the editorial apparatus with the Caroline/Yap search.
