Abstract: This is a most useful bibliography of the anthropological (and related) literature on Micronesia which appeared between 1944 and 1975, thus supplementing Utinomi's older bibliography which covers the literature from the earliest published sources on Micronesia until 1944. The work is divided into two parts: "Main bibliography," and "Topics and areas."

The Main bibliography, containing no less than 1900 titles, provides complete information on each individual source. The various subheadings of the Topics and areas section only contain author, date and a part of the title. In this way the user can easily find all relevant information on a specific topic or area. A code is added to all titles of the Main bibliography indicating topic and area. There is also a system of cross-references to related sources concerning a single issue. Another feature of the bibliography is that citations for reviews are given along with the original source.

Judging from the above-mentioned qualities, this bibliography is very useful for every student of Micronesian anthropology. However, the user should be aware that the compilers have included Guam and the Trust Territory in their overview, and not the Gilbert Islands, which is perhaps the only important omission.
