Abstract: In this confidential letter to Provincial Xavier Riquelme, Francisco Gayoso reviews the Mariana mission from 1674 to 1676 under Antonio San Basilio and Gerardo Bouwens. It critiques disputes with Captain Damián de Esplana over military authority, the administration of boys' and girls' colleges, mission practices on Guam, Alonso López's departure, and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Pedro Díaz and San Basilio.
