Abstract: This section brings together Gerard Bouwens's account of his voyage from Manila to Mexico and John de Haynin's report from Macao. Together they document Bouwens's mission to obtain soldiers, funding, and ship support for the Marianas, his Pacific crossing to Acapulco, and the wider Jesuit communication network linking the Marianas, Manila, Macao, and New Spain.
