Abstract: KPress Vol. 17 Iss. 17: NEWS: FSM swimmers set personal bests and break national records at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Budapest, with record performances by Dionisio Augustine and Kaleo Kihleng highlighting international competition achievements; the FSM Supreme Court grants a writ of habeas corpus on behalf of Nepalese refugees previously held in unsafe conditions at the Pohnpei port, following determinations by the UNHCR that several men qualify as legitimate refugees eligible for resettlement; a new Congress-funded asphalt plant in Palikir officially opens, replacing outdated infrastructure and improving road maintenance capacity while reducing emissions; thirty-three cadets from across the FSM participate in the FSM Police Academy in Pohnpei; the Pohnpei Port Authority conducts training for Kolonia Town firefighters to strengthen local emergency response capabilities.
