Abstract: This dataset presents benthic coverage data collected from 2012 to 2014 in the Federated States of Micronesia and the Caroline Islands, as part of the Disturb Impacts Coral Project. The primary focus of this work is on the Federated States of Micronesia, where extensive underwater surveys were conducted to assess coral reef health and habitat composition. The data encompasses various benthic categories, including coral, algae, and substrate types, providing a comprehensive overview of the ecological status of these marine environments. The collection methodology involved systematic sampling across multiple sites, ensuring a representative dataset for analysis. The findings contribute to understanding the impacts of environmental stressors on coral ecosystems and serve as a baseline for future monitoring efforts. Additionally, the dataset may support research initiatives aimed at coral conservation and management strategies within Micronesia and the broader Caroline Islands region.
