Abstract: KPress Vol. 15 Iss. 02: NEWS: This issue highlights community and national developments including the Nativity scene at the Spanish Bell Tower in Pohnpei and the graduation of the first cohort of FSM-trained nurses from the College of Micronesia–FSM Nursing Program; it reports on a lawsuit filed in the FSM Supreme Court by the original contractor responsible for drainage improvements on Weno Road, outlining contractual disputes with the FSM; the issue includes accounts from Papua New Guinea castaways as they await repatriation following their rescue; it notes a reduction in per-gallon gasoline prices across the FSM by Vital; regional fisheries governance features prominently with warnings from Forum Fisheries Agency officials about the impacts of inaction at the 11th Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission meeting; infrastructure and resilience updates include the reopening of Island Food offices after CCAD renovations and the donation by USAID of a reverse-osmosis water purification system to Chuuk State Hospital to ensure reliable access to safe drinking water during service outages and future droughts; and migration and humanitarian coordination is covered through the opening of an IOM Micronesia sub-office in Chuuk and related efforts supporting repatriation and migrant assistance across the FSM.
