Abstract: This document is a survey report focusing on dietary patterns and food consumption in the Federated States of Micronesia. It covers the time period of 2020-2021 and provides a comprehensive analysis of food intake across various regions within Micronesia, including Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae. The report examines specific taxa related to local food sources, including fish, fruits, and vegetables, as well as processed foods. It discusses ecological systems relevant to food production and consumption, emphasizing traditional dietary practices and their evolution in response to modern influences.

The methodology includes quantitative assessments of food consumption through surveys administered to households, alongside qualitative interviews to gather insights on dietary habits and preferences. The report is structured to present findings by region, detailing variations in dietary patterns and nutritional intake. It also addresses the implications of these patterns on public health and nutrition policy within the Federated States of Micronesia. The document serves as a resource for researchers, policymakers, and public health officials interested in nutrition, food security, and cultural dietary practices in Micronesia.
