Abstract: “Impacts to the Micronesian Islands by Environmental Change of Globalization and Climate Change” discusses the complex interplay of globalization and environmental changes on the Micronesian Islands. It examines how such forces have influenced ecological, economic, and social structures within these island communities.

This research integrates diverse data sets with four main focal points: ocean, land, culture, and economics, aiming for a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impacts on the atolls. The study indicates that globalization and environmental changes have distinct and sometimes region-specific effects on local communities. While globalization enhances regional characteristics through improved connections to the outside world, it also brings challenges, such as environmental damages and socio-political shifts.

Quantitative and qualitative analyses have revealed various concerns among local populations, especially regarding climate change, though there are noticeable differences and biases based on specific regions. Additionally, the study highlights the persistence of traditional social structures in certain areas despite economic and infrastructural developments, and it underscores the value of collaboration with different community members, such as high school students, in enriching the research process.
