Abstract: KPress Vol. 16 Iss. 19: NEWS: Coverage of the Federated States of Micronesia’s participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the performances and representation of FSM athletes including swimmer Dionisio Augustine, swimmer Debra Daniel competing in her third Olympic Games, 16-year-old sprinter Lerissa Henry of PICS High School, Kitson Kapiriel in the men’s 100-meter race, and boxer Jennifer Chieng of Yap serving as flag bearer for the FSM delegation, with emphasis on national visibility and athlete development; reporting on an incident at Pohnpei International Airport in which Pohnpei Port Authority officials attempted to block FSM Immigration officers from entering the airport to clear arriving passengers, resulting in the arrest by FSM National Police of Airport Manager Ron Reyes and security head Jason Ringlen for obstruction of officers under FSM Code Title 11, Section 501, after which Immigration officers resumed normal clearance operations; arrest of a Pohnpei juvenile accused of breaking into the Chinese Embassy complex; graduation of ten students from the College of Micronesia–FSM Trial Counselor Program; reporting on the repatriation of Nepalese and Indian nationals from the FSM following immigration proceedings.
