Abstract: This relation attributed to Fr. Diego de Bobadilla describes Manila shipbuilding, Chinese and Portuguese trade, the profitability of the Manila-Acapulco galleon route, and the eastward Pacific crossing to New Spain. It includes a description of the Ladrones or Mariana Islands as a provisioning point where islanders exchanged fish, rice, and fresh water for iron, linking the Marianas to the commercial and maritime history of the Spanish Pacific.
