Abstract: This dossier contains both a summary and a full narrative of Fr. Francisco Gayoso's accidental drift voyage from Guam to the Philippines in 1676. It recounts the Santa Rosa's failed passage from Agaña to Umatac, nineteen days adrift with little food or water, vows and devotions at sea, shipwreck on the Luzon coast, baptisms among local children, and the eventual overland journey to safety.
