Abstract: KPress Vol. 17 Iss. 16: NEWS: A visiting soccer coach encourages local athletes and organizers to sustain momentum in football development following a period of intensive volunteer coaching and capacity building in Pohnpei; the U.S. Department of State reports that the FSM has increased efforts to combat human trafficking and remains at Tier 2 status, citing expanded investigations and at least one conviction while noting continued gaps in meeting minimum standards; U.S. and FSM officials lift the suspension on Compact public infrastructure grant funding, reaching agreement to enable the release of approximately $150 million for infrastructure projects across Chuuk, Pohnpei, Yap, and Kosrae under the Amended Compact of Free Association; U.S. Navy Seabees undertake school renovation projects in Micronesia, strengthening community infrastructure and bilateral relationships through hands-on assistance.
