Abstract: Narrative of Gómez Hernández Catoira, steward of the Mendaña fleet. He offers a view of daily hardships aboard ship, including hunger, thirst, and quarrels among the sailors. He notes the perseverance of the crew despite sickness and discontent, underscoring the strain placed on discipline by long voyages and inadequate supplies.
