Abstract: Fr. Ambrosio Ortiz’s Italian eulogy of Fr. Carlos Boranga presents his birth in Vienna, Jesuit formation and missionary vocation, service in Europe and Spain, voyage through Mexico to the Marianas, missionary work in Guam and Agusan on Rota, and death during the 1684 revolt after rebels in Rota and Saipan were drawn into the uprising.
