Abstract: This biographical sketch traces the life of Diego Luis de San Vitores from Spain to Mexico and the Philippines, culminating in his founding of the Mariana mission, his evangelization of Guam and other islands, and his martyrdom in 1672. It is a key hagiographical and historical account for the early Catholic mission in the Marianas.
